To call ICP Networks a successful business doesn’t come close to summing up what CEO Matt Archer has achieved. Since opening its doors in 2002, the Cheshire-based company has grown to become one of the largest suppliers of data and networking equipment in the UK. Globally, it’s one of the largest in its sector.
Their enviable client-list boasts some of the biggest corporations in the world with an offering that covers everything from individual components to complete IT systems. Uniquely, they buy redundant equipment which allows them to both rent and supply a huge variety of rare and discontinued parts.
In short, for anything network or system related, they are the go-to people.
Global success, of course, doesn’t happen overnight. Certainly not in the cut and thrust world of IT. Even if your credentials in the field are forged into your very DNA. (Matt grew up near Silicon Valley and his father opened the first ever Apple store in Colorado.) For ICP Networks, their strategy was one of steady growth.
And it’s a strategy that has continued to pay off.
Support for Growth
They have twice outgrown their premises, and in 2013 moved into stunning ‘environmentally designed’ 16,500 sq ft purpose-built premises, dubbed ‘the greenest HQ’ in Britain. For the latest phase in this inspirational company’s growth, Matt approached us for funding.
“We were looking to create a wider throughput of deliverables; to expand our product range in existing markets. Ashley Finance was recommended to me by a trusted advisor and friend.”
A short-term business loan was all that was needed to help the IT specialists achieve what they wanted.
“The finance package helped us to go to another plateau. It was a step change for us.”
For global players like ICP Networks, securing funding is seldom an issue. It’s fair to say that companies with a proven track record can pick and choose their finance provider. But for Matt, the funding itself was just part of the picture.
An understanding Lender
“In business you need to be able to respond quickly to changes – and opportunities – in the market. What sets Ashley Finance apart is their responsiveness. They understood our needs; their speed enabled us to move forward at pace – and the lack of red tape was much appreciated.”
The speed of our funding has been cited by many of the businesses we work with. It’s perhaps one of the reasons we’ve forged and maintained a strong reputation and why SMEs of all sizes trust us to deliver. But when you’ve been doing what we do for as long as we have (25 years and counting) you don’t have to tick boxes to understand what makes a business tick. As Matt put it:
“Successful companies like to work with other successful companies. There’s a mutual respect. The recommendation was why I approached Ashley Finance in the first instance. Their personable customer service and efficiency is why I’d go back.”
We’ll certainly look forward to that.
