Ashley’s Business Relationships Director, John Leech, has been elected to the Manchester committee of the Federation for Small Businesses (FSB). His appointment was made at the organisations’  AGM which took place in the former Granada Studios which was once home to Coronation Street’s knicker factory, Underworld.

“I’m delighted to join the FSB committee,” said John. “At Ashley we pride ourselves on being the friend of the smaller business, supporting businesses through good times and bad, and taking on this role is a great opportunity to give smaller businesses an extra ‘helping hand’ by becoming a voice for the small business community.

He added: “Having the AGM in such an unusual location could not have been more relevant for the FSB and for Ashley. Coronation Street is full of small businesses that are the heart of any local community. Whether it is The Rovers Return pub, the Kabin newsagents, Roy’s Rolls café, Webster’s Auto Centre, Audrey’s hairdressers or Underworld, the knicker factory, these are all types of businesses that Ashley can support with finance for growth or that unexpected replacement equipment, or simply to help with cashflow, when  businesses are waiting to be paid by their clients.”
